Job Detail
- Define the weekly, monthly, quarterly plan for worship at the church.
- Supervise the training of folks in African and contemporary style Gospel music and musical instruments.
- Collaborate with the technical team members about weekend services.
- Organize concerts, musical and training workshops.
- Develop a musical growth strategy for members and volunteers.
- Facilitate mission projects and short-term mission trips.
- Give general administrative leadership to all mission projects and trips.
- Help to launch and coordinate the Foodbank outreach project of the church
General Ministerial Duties:
- Developing the worship ministry at DCM,
- Managing a new community of singers and musicians, and
- Leading on a Sunday and at other church-related events
- Teach, preach, lead and conduct religious worship services whenever necessary.
- Perform marriages, conduct funerals, and visit the sick.
- Work with appropriate committees and leaders in carrying out the Missions Ministry of the church.
- Attend staff meetings, plan services, and retreats.
- Accept other assignments as made by the Senior Pastor
- Planning organizing, and leading congregational music for worship services.
- Leading and developing the worship team. (Praise band and audio/visual teams)
- Overseeing all technical aspects of worship including sound, visual, lighting, and streaming
- Coordinates music for all worship services and arrives ½-hour before the service
Basic Qualifications:
– Applicant must have evidence of at least a 1 – year suitable work/volunteer experience as a worship leader or music director in a local church or other Christian community.
– Candidate must be willing to be flexible to learn new styles of music and have suitable theoretical music experience (formal music education is a plus).
– Must be a good vocalist/lead singer.
– After a season of online gatherings and now back to in-gathering, this role affords the opportunity to build a team and shape our worship culture with creativity. This role would therefore be suitable for someone very flexible and willing to try out new ideas.
– You will be expected to consider Divine Covenant Ministries as your home church, become an active member, and fully accept its values and vision.
– There is a requirement for you to be a Christian.
Contract:
This post is initially for 3 years which could be extended depending on the achievements of targets by the post holder within the initial first year.
Job Type: Full-time.
Salary: £1,000 per month
Hours: 35hrs working week, equivalent to 5 working days. This will include some evenings and weekends
Working Term: Contract
Benefits Salary: As a growing charity organization, we are willing to pay a salary in the region of £1,000 per month, which will increase with time. This role attracts 25 days’ annual leave per annum; plus all public holidays
The Congregation and session shall be responsible for:
- Shall support the worship Minster in his/her ministry
- Provide regular financial compensation according to the terms of the contract
- Provide for an annual performance review or at least thirty days prior to the end of the contract
- Review the adequacy of compensation after one year.
In the event the contract period expires or is terminated by the Church without cause, the Pastor shall receive a continuance of compensation including effective salary
